The final, revised list for the 2013 SPLOST is out, coming in just a hair under $65-million.
Though they started out with over 42 multi-million dollar projects, the Rome-Floyd SPLOST committee has managed in just three months to whittle that number down. Now, the list sits at 28, and still boasts the big ticket items, like a new Animal Control Facility and the USTA Tennis Center.
The finalized projects are a bit slimmer than they were when first proposed; the majority has seen $100,000-$300,000 cuts, which were made Thursday night. After compiling a list of the most imperative plans at their last meeting, committee members tasked county and city officials to slash their own projections to bring the cost beneath the projected $65-million a penny tax would be able to rake in.
This is the final list that the public will vote on November 5th.
