The Rome Shrine Club is preparing for their annual football matchup between the Pepperell Dragons and Coosa Eagles on Saturday.
The game, which is being held at Pepperell Stadium, will be the 66th time the two Floyd County schools have taken to the field to raise money for severely burned and crippled children in the county.
“We have a van that we transport children back and forth from a orthopedics hospital in Greenville, SC., and a burn hospital in Cincinnati, OH., at no charge at the parents. We pay for everything,” Rome Shrine Club Chairman Jerry Collins says.
The annual parade will start downtown at 3:30pm. Kick off for the Shriner’s game is at 7:30pm.
