The Polk County Drug Task Force remained busy this week, culminating in the arrest of a number of individuals involved in illegal drug activity throughout the county.
A long-term surveillance operation targeting street level narcotics dealers in Cedartown ended with the arrest of seven people on a host of offenses. The majority of the activity occurring in Tuner Street Park, near a playground where many small children frequently play. When officers approached the suspected activity under the park pavilion, one of the suspects ran away and was later detained by a K-9 unit.
That man was later identified as 31-year-old Kevin Lynch. Also arrested on the scene were Bryant Latwan Pollard, Terry Tyrone Pollard, Gaston Derrell Diamond, Cedric Warren Pryor, Najawon Nevonta Stallworth and Timothy Lamar Jackson
All seven individuals were charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession with Intent to Distribute. Additionally, Bryant Pollard and Kevin Lynch also face a charge of possession of crack cocaine.
On Tuesday, the task force arrested a Douglasville man who came to Rockmart to buy Oxycodone from a seller. That person turned out to be an undercover officer who arrested 30-year-old Ryan Adam Gambeda on a charge of criminal attempt to purchase Oxycodone. Additional checks found that Gambeda was wanted out of Ohio for theft. Additional charges may follow.
