National polls and media outlets have not declared a sure winner from Thursday night’s Vice Presidential Debate from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.

Local political pundits Layla Shipman and Wendy Davis weighed in on the debate during Friday morning’s Hometown Headlines Radio Edition. Shipman, of the Floyd County Republican Party spoke in regards to Vice President Joe Biden’s lack of concern and almost rude behavior toward Representative Paul Ryan.

“Do I think it was a blow out like the Mitt Romney debate? No I do not. But it is hard to get a lot of your statements in when you’ve been interrupted 82 times in a 90 minute debate.”

Floyd County Democratic spokeswoman Wendy Davis responded to justification of Biden’s debate conduct as making up for Obama’s lackluster performance in last week’s.

“I think that Vice President Biden did what a lot of people wanted Obama to do last week, that he didn’t do was to stand up and call out the other side for a lack of facts.”

Both Biden and Ryan had several exchanges during discussions on the budget, taxes and foreign policy during the 90 minute debate.

The next presidential debate will be a Town Hall Forum on Tuesday night at Hofstra University in New York.
