Santa has finally answered every Northwest Georgia Outdoorsmen’s Christmas wish—--A Bass Pro Shop is coming to Bartow County.
In a release Friday, Bass Pro Shop announced the projected 100,000 square foot Outpost store that is set to become an anchor in the recently announced Lake Point Sporting Community and Town center in Emerson.
Not only does the colossal outdoor retail store plan to offer a variety of outdoor-related equipment, it will also bring with it a 300-acre nature park, which will sit adjacent to the shop. Officials claim it will pay tribute to Georgia’s outdoor heritage and serve as area for shooting, archery and outdoor activities for kids.
According to their release, the average customer drives an average distance of 50 miles to stay in the complex for close to two and a half hours. Until this announcement, Northwest Georgians were over two hours away from the closest Bass Pro Shop in Lawrenceville. Emerson’s outdoor store will be within an easy drive of Floyd, Polk, Gordon and of course, Bartow residents.
Officials claim that the store will generate approximately 200 jobs for the area, with a target opening date of 2014.
