Eight days later, it’s ok to go out after dark.
That's the word coming down from the Gordon County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday as the community battles to return to normal on the heels of last week’s deadly tornado which laid waste to areas of Sonoraville, Calhoun and Adairsville as well as points in between and beyond.
Since last Wednesday January 30th law enforcement had put the curfew in place in storm-ravaged areas to keep all residents indoors from dusk to dawn for safety reasons. Sheriff Mitch Ralston says concentrated patrols and extra deputies will continue to be positioned in devastated parts of Gordon County. Ralston encourages any victim of the tornado to call the Sheriff’s Office for help at 706-629-1244.
