Gordon County Sheriff’s deputies have made a pair of arrests in cases involving sexual crimes against children.
A statement from Sheriff Mitch Ralston says the two suspects are accused of committing separate, unrelated crimes.
Officers arrested Charles Daniel Thompson, age 65 of Calhoun, for allegedly molesting two young children, who are currently ages 8 and 7. Police say Thompson committed the alleged crimes at locations in the Dews Pond community over a period of several years, beginning in October 2009 and ending last month. Thompson faces one count of Child Molestation and Sexual Battery Against a Child.
Police have also jailed Francisco Flores III, age 38 of Calhoun, after he allegedly attempted to molest a 15-year-old girl this past November. Flores III faces a single count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Child Molestation.
Both Thompson and Flores were taken into police custody February 15th.
