Several months after Bass Pro announced they would drop an anchor in Emerson, another major sports and outdoor retailer has declared their intentions to come to Bartow County.
Academy Sports+Outdoors have confirmed they will be opening a 72,000 sq. ft. store at the Cartersville Crossing Shopping center in Cartersville, Hometown Headlines reports. The old K-Mart there will be bulldozed, the demolition set to begin sometime this week. When installed, the store will bring 150 jobs to the area.
The Texas-based outdoor and sports retailer’s announcement comes on the heels of several businesses flocking to the shopping center off of Joe Frank Harris Parkway; A new Bojangles recently opened its doors, with a Jandy’s Frozen Yogurt to follow soon. And, according to H & H Realty, three other national tenants are looking at vacant spaces in the center as well.
