Rome City Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery they say occurred in the middle of Downtown Rome after Friday night’s Block Party.
According to police reports, it was a little past midnight Saturday when two men claimed they were attacked from behind by four black males. The victims were knocked to the ground around the 200 block of Broad St., where the quartet of suspects relieved one of the men of his driver’s license, his social security card, several credit cards and $50 in cash.
After robbing the one man, the four fled south down Broad St.
The victims could not give a detailed description of their assailants, only that they were black.
