Darlington School is one step closer to choosing their next Head of School as they announce the two finalists for the job Wednesday, both currently heading two prestigious private schools in Alabama.

Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell, current Headmaster at Tuscaloosa Academy; and L. Brent Bell, Head of the Upper School at Randolph School in Huntsville were chosen from a field of six semifinalists during a round of interviews in Atlanta from September 11 – 12.

Dr. Mitchell and his wife will visit the Darlington campus and the Rome community for a three day period starting on September 25 – 25. Bell will visit on September 29 – October 1.

The vetting process will include a large number of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, trustees, students and the search committee participating in the on-site interview process.

No word on how long after the finalists interview process a new Head of School will be chosen.
