A Polk County judge this week sentenced a Cedartown man to life in prison for his involvement in the New Years Day 2011 slaying of a Rockmart teen.
Jermaine Deon Ware, age 35 of Cedartown was convicted last week on charges including malice murder, felony murder and three counts of aggravated assault in the fatal shooting death of Rodney Arzez Mitchell, Junior.
The shooting occurred at the intersection of Gordon and Church Street in Rockmart.
Ware turned himself into authorities on January 6, 2011 following several days of being a fugitive from justice.
