A suspected car burglar apprehended Friday morning in Cartersville may be connected to several automobile break-ins in the area.
According to Cartersville City Police, officers were dispatched to North Erwin Street around 7:40 in the morning in reference to a woman claiming she had watched a man take her wallet and cell phone from her car. The report says she left her car unlocked because she was getting equipment from her business. On her way out, she saw a man police suspect was Darnell Robinson, age 37 of Cartersville, getting out of her vehicle, her wallet in hand. She cornered the man, who shoved her away and ran.
With the description the woman gave, officers canvassed the area, finding Robinson at a nearby apartment complex. Police found the victim’s stolen property inside one of the apartments.
Robinson was arrested and taken to the Bartow County Jail, but investigators believe he may be a suspect in other similar incidents in the city. The investigation is on-going.
