Power outages from Monday’s severe storms in Polk County have prompted the Polk County Water Authority to issue a Boil Water Advisory.
According to an official at the authority, low water pressure due to several pumps being idled by downed power lines has resulted in the possibility of contamination.
County water customers are affected in the advisory including those living in the Felton Community, along Highway 27 south of Dugdown Road and in and around Bethlehem Church Road in extreme northern Haralson County.
Residents are advised to thoroughly boil water before drinking or using for cooking. The Boil Water Advisory is in effect until further notice.
