The limping housing market in Northwest Georgia might’ve taken off into a sprint in March.
Jason Free, president of the Greater Rome Board of Realtors, reports the local housing market continued its upward swing in March, which has now shaped a unique real estate environment not seen in years.
“We’re seeing a shrinking of the inventory, We’re seeing a number of closed transactions exceeding where we were last year at this time. The numbers of foreclosures are decreasing,” Free says.
“We’re really in a micro-bubble right now where average sales prices are going up and we’re seeing a shortage of inventory, which is creating a scenario which is great for sellers and great for realtors. We’re getting into scenarios right now where we’re having competing offers, which we haven’t seen in quite some time.”
Free says he’s seeing a lot more interest in the Real Estate business due in-part to the upward climb. For the first time in three years, he will be re-opening The Jason Free School of Real Estate. The three-month course will begin on May 29th. To sign up, visit
