Another candidate has emerged in the on-going saga that is becoming Saxy Chambliss’ soon-to-be vacant senate seat.
State Senator Barry Loudermilk (R-Cassville) officially announced his candidacy Saturday for the U.S. Congress post Phil Gingrey will be giving up to run for the Senate. His announcement, made at the 11th District Republican Convention, is not exactly a surprise to many; Due to election laws, he has held back on his formal proclamation, but he did make his intentions known to WRGA back in early April on John Druckenmiller's Hometown Headlines Radio Edition.
Loudermilk will have some steep competition for Gingrey’s seat 11th congressional seat--- 2008 Libertarian candidate for president Bob Barr and State Rep. Ed Lindsey (R-Buckhead) have also announced their GOP candidacy for the post.
