Rome woman charged with felony shoplifting

A Rome woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Thursday for shoplifting.
According to jail reports, 26-year-old Tiarra Sharnique Palmer of a North Broad Street residence allegedly stole over $500 worth of clothing from Belk in the Mount Berry Square Mall.
When Palmer was confronted by employees, she physically resisted striking the employee in the face and chest.
She was also found in possession of 10 suspected clonazepam pills.
She is charged with felony shoplifting, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, simple battery, drugs not in original container, providing false name and date of birth, probation violation, and obstructing an investigation.
