Rome Police Searching for suspect who shot and killed one person Saturday night

Emergency officials were dispatched to 103 A E Main Street in reference to a shooting at 10:53 p.m. Saturday evening.

According to Rome Police, when officials arrived on scene a male was found with two gunshot wounds to the chest. He was transported by Floyd EMS to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

According to Hometown Headlines, Deputy Coroner Daniel Helton identified the man as 44-year-old Randy Lamont Diamond. 

Police have attained an active felony murder warrant for 48-year-old Frederick Duane Driver, who is a black male.  

Witness identified Driver as the shooter. He was last seen leaving the area on foot.
