Man with identity fraud

A 28-year old Attalla, Alabama man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday morning on a felony count of identity fraud.

According to jail records, J.D. Trammell III used someone else’s driver’s license to identify himself and gave a false name and date of birth to a police officer.

Trammell was arrested at East 12th Street and Dean Avenue.

He was also charged with giving false information to law enforcement, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving without a license, suspended registration, no insurance, DUI and driving without headlights.


17-year old charged with auto theft

A Rome teen was jailed late Sunday, charged with theft by taking an automobile.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 17-year old Devon Makai Young, of a Matilda Drive address, was stopped by police as he was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon, which had been taken without the owner’s permission.

Young also reportedly admitted to police that he was driving without a license.

The stolen car was valued at $1,200.


Man charged with felony obstruction of officers

A Rome man is facing felony and misdemeanor obstruction charges following his arrest early Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 38-year old Joseph Lee Byrd, of a Porter Street address, refused to place his hands behind his back and tried multiple times to pull away from officers.

He also allegedly struck an officer in the face while trying to pull away during the incident on Glover Street near East Main Street.

He then ran on foot, according to the report.

Byrd was also charged with a license plate display violation, and driving without a license.


Man charged with meth possession

July 17, 2017--11:21 a.m.


A 44-year old Rome man was jailed late Sunday for possession of methamphetamine.

According to arrest records, Arthur Tremaine Adams, of an East 14th Street address, was found in possession of a pipe containing meth at his residence on East 14th Street.

Adams is also charged with possession of drug-related objects.
