Two arrested for attacking convenience store clerk

A Gordon County man and an Indiana woman wanted for attacking a convenience store clerk are now in custody.
19-year old Michael Carroll Tippins Jr. of Calhoun and 19-year old Lexie Shi Muffett of Union Mills, Indiana turned themselves in at the Floyd County Jail Wednesday.
The incident occurred at around 9 p.m. on Monday at the Circle K at 910 North Broad Street.
The two are accused of striking the victim several times in the face, leaving him swollen and bloody.
Tippins also allegedly kneed the victim several times once he was on the ground.
Tippins and Muffett are both charged with battery, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass.
