Report: Man stole, pawned firearms

A Rome man was arrested Thursday accused of stealing a Browning A-bolt rifle and Heritage Rough Rider Revolver from a residence on Old Bells Ferry Road back on February 10.

According to arrest warrants, 35-year old Perry Lee Barnes of a Lull Road address then pawned the firearms.

Barnes is charged with felony theft by taking and theft by deception.

 

Man charged in previous incident

A 28-year old Rome man is facing a multitude of charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Kelvin Garard Jackson of Roseway Circle is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony theft by receiving stolen property, reckless driving, hit and run, misdemeanor obstruction of a firefighter, failure to maintain a lane, driving on a suspended or revoked license, running a stop sign, opening and closing vehicle doors, and a seatbelt violation.

Jackson was transferred from the Coffee County Correctional Facility to the Floyd County Jail Thursday to face the local charges.

 

Three arrested on Turner Bend Road

Three people were arrested at a location on Turner Bend Road Thursday on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 31-year old Brandon Gregory Mullis-Vonbehren of Flowery Branch Road in Kingston, 22-year old Seanne Savanah Kessler of Selman Road in Rome, and 46-year old Mark Allen Nelson of First Street in Shannon are all charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Mullis-Vonbehren was additionally charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle, felony theft by receiving stolen property, and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement.

Nelson is facing additional charges of possession of drug-related objects and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

 

Police make arrests in separate drug cases

FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

Police make a number of drug arrests in separate incidents Thursday.

A 60-year old Rome man is facing methamphetamine possession charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Danny Edmond Barton was arrested at his home on Wade Street.

 

A Cave Spring man was charged with possession of cocaine following his arrest at his home on Fannin Street.

According to jail records, 37-year old William Gartrell Holloway was also charged with a probation violation.

 

 

Meanwhile, a traffic stop on Maple Street near Lombardy Way ended with the arrest of a Rome man on meth possession charges.

42-year old Wayne Franklin Christian Jr. of Burlington Road was also charged with possession of drug-related objects, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and a tail light violation.
