A man was arrested for aggravated assault and terroristic threats

A Rome man was jailed Monday on charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts.
 
According to jail records, 50-year old Jim Everett Brown of Spring Creek Street choked a woman and then said he would kill her.
 
The incident occurred at a residence on Nixon Avenue, according to the report.
 
 
 
Man charged with burglary

A man arrested last week on charges of forgery and possession of a controlled substance has now been charged with burglary.
 
According to previous reports, 22-year Jeremy Austin Awalt of Fosters Mill Road was arrested on April 11 on Highway 27 North at Sike Storey Road after he was found in possession of a counterfeit $100 bill and six Alprazolam pills.
 
The latest arrest report filed Monday states that Awalt entered a residence on Bethel Church Road on March 19 and took about $1,500 worth of items.
 
Awalt then allegedly sold golf clubs taken from the residence to a local business for $194.
 
Awalt is also charged with theft by taking and theft by conversion.
