A Blake Street Summerville man called the police last week about some missing shirts, a tie, a can of spray deodorant and a can of mousse and wound up in jail.
According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, the call about the missing items came in last Thursday. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with James Pierce who told the officers that someone had stolen the items.
As officers were speaking with Pierce, he was advised that there was an outstanding warrant for interference with a 911 call. At that point, Mr. Pierce attempted to flee from the cops and a deputy from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department who was assisting Summerville Police was able to grab and handcuff him.
A family member spoke with officers after Mr. Pierce’s arrest and told them that the shirts had been located in the dryer.
Mr. Pierce made bail later and contacted the police again, saying a watch, a phone, and a phone charger were missing.
