A 35-year old Rome man is facing a long list of charges including aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a police officer and terroristic threats and acts.

According to arrest warrants and records on file at the Floyd County Jail, Ryan Keith Tilley of an Asbury Drive address pulled a knife on a man at a location on McHenry Drive back on August 23.

Tilley then allegedly pressed the tip of the knife against the victim’s abdomen.

The warrant states that after being arrested, Tilley removed the handcuffs and fled from the back seat of the patrol car, resulting in a felony charge of escape.

One at the Floyd County Jail on Thursday, after being transferred from the Huttonsville Correctional Facility in West Virginia, Tilley reportedly punched an officer in the face.

He struck the officer several more times before putting him in a chokehold, according to the report.

Tilley allegedly used his body weight to bounce the officer’s head onto the concrete floor.

Tilley is also charged with felony obstruction and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.
