Coosa Cleanup scheduled for this weekend
081814 10 a.m.
Floyd County Government and Keep Rome/Floyd Beautiful will offer a “Free Residential Dump Day” in the Coosa Community on August 23rd , from 9 am until 2 pm.
The event will be at the Berryhill Remote Site on Berryhill Road.  County crews and Community Service workers will be on site to help unload vehicles.  Materials accepted include carpet, lumber, scrap steel, appliances, and furniture.
According to Michael Skeen, Director of Public Works for Floyd County “We like to offer a free chance for citizens to get rid of unwanted items that typically need to go to the Walker Mountain Landfill, and require a fee.  Hopefully, by making it more convenient and free, citizens will have a chance to clean out their yards, garages, basements, etc.”
Items NOT accepted include household garbage, electronics, liquids, tires, and batteries.
Floyd County will host a similar event in Cave Spring on September 20th.
