Schools are open Tuesday for most

January 9, 2017--7:49 p.m.

Staff reports

It's back to school Tuesday for students in the Rome City and Floyd County School Systems.

Cartersville City Schools and Calhoun City Schools are also open.

Gordon County Schools will operate on a normal schedule for staff and students Tuesday.  However, due to conditions on the far east side of the county, portions of Carter Mountain Road remain closed. Therefore, bus travel will not be possible for house numbers 648 and below on this road. Parents in these areas will need to make alternate arrangements for transportation to school for their students.

There will be no school for students in the Bartow and Paulding County School Systems on Tuesday due to icy conditions. However, all staff are to report at 10 a.m.

All Georgia Highlands College campuses, except Marietta, will open normal hours on Tuesday, January 10th. The Marietta campus at KSU will open at 12pm. Since road conditions may vary widely, please contact your supervisor or professor if you do not feel safe traveling from your location.
