Auto crash in Cedar Bluff takes one life

Authorities have released the name of a woman killed in a two-vehicle wreck Monday in Cedar Bluff, Alabama.
76-year old Annie Pearl Bishop of Cedar Bluff died after the Nissan Sedan she was a passenger in turned left into the path of a pickup truck on Highway 9 at Westbrook Street.
The pickup truck caught on fire, but the driver was able to get out and was not injured.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to Cherokee Medical Center.
Cedar Bluff Police and Firefighters, Cherokee EMS the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the scene.
The wreck remains under investigation.
