Centre, Alabama man arrested following chase

A 20-year old Centre, Alabama man is lodged in the Floyd County Jail after allegedly fleeing from Rome Police Thursday.
According to jail records, Adam Kane Wright of a County Road 59 address failed to stop for the officer in the area of Turner McCall Boulevard and Dogwood Drive, and then drove at speeds in excess of 20 miles per hour above the speed limit.
The report states that the vehicle had registration belonging to another vehicle.
Wright abandoned 1.6 ounces of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm during the chase.
The firearm had been reported stolen in Calhoun County, Alabama.
Wright is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, acquiring a license plate for the purpose of concealing the identity of a vehicle, possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, abandonment of dangerous drugs, tampering with evidence, theft by receiving stolen property in another state, reckless conduct, obstruction of officers, driving with a suspended or revoked license, improper lane change, and failure to appear in court.
