Thanksgiving holiday travel period continues, 15 deaths so far

There have been 15 deaths on Georgia highways so far during the 102-hour holiday weekend, none in our listening area.
Fatal accidents have been investigated by the Georgia State Patrol Post 22 in Waycross (2), Post 4 in Villa Rica, Post 28 in Jasper, Post 42 in Rincon, Post 23 in Brunswick, Post 22 in Douglas, Post 16 in Helena, Post 34 in Manchester, GSP Nighthawks North, Gwinnett County Police, Cobb County Police and Dekalb County Police (3).
The holiday travel period ends at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
During the 2017 Thanksgiving holiday, the Georgia State Patrol investigated 665 crashes that resulted in 373 injuries and 11 fatalities.
In addition to crash investigations, troopers arrested 278 people for driving under the influence, while issuing 11,184 citations and 15,507 warnings.
