Tractor-trailer crash in Bartow County takes the life of the driver

According to Georgia State Patrol Reports, a vehicle crash occurred in White at approximately 6:40 a.m. Tuesday.

A tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on Highway 411 and Ford passenger car was stopped in the right lane of the road on a hill.The occupant of the passenger car was outside of the vehicle, inspecting the front of the car. The tractor-trailer struck the rear of the passenger car, sending the passenger car and the occupant to the right shoulder.

The tractor-trailer continued traveling north onto the right shoulder where it struck a DOT sign and a power pole. The tractor-trailer came to rest in the front yard of 2126 Highway 411.

The tractor caught fire and was leaking diesel fuel in the yard as the fire spread from the tractor to two houses. Residents from both homes were able to leave without harm.

The driver was still inside the tractor and was pronounced deceased upon arrival of the first responders. The occupant of the passenger car was transported to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

Initially, the body of the tractor-trailer driver was transported to the GBI crime lab for identification. He was later identified as Roderick Eubanks, 48, of Hephzibah.

The driver of the passenger car is Benjamin Zarzana, 55, of Cartersville.
