May 2, 2019--12:00 p.m.

An alleged shoplifting incident and a foot chase involving a Georgia State Trooper resulted in the arrest of two Calhoun men Wednesday afternoon.

According to a Calhoun Police report, 26-year old Eric Charles Stewart was seen running out of the Home Depot and jumping into a pickup truck after throwing a tool box in the bed.

The truck almost ran over a witness and her mother as it was leaving the parking lot.

A state trooper stopped the truck on Curtis Parkway and Stewart took off running.

He was caught a short time later and charged with shoplifting and obstruction.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck, 27-yer old Travis Michael Nix, was charged with shoplifting and reckless driving.
