Calhoun Police K-9 Retires
May 3, 2019---10:16 A.M.
K-9 Bram has officially retired from service. K-9 Bram and his Handler, Officer Jake Holley have faithfully served the citizens of Calhoun and Gordon County for the past three years. K-9 Bram is a dual purpose Narcotics/Tracking dog that was donated to The Calhoun Police Department by The Rabun County Georgia Sheriff’s Office in 2013.
After years of dedicated service with the Calhoun Police Department, Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and The United States Military, Bram will retire to live an easier, safer life. K-9 Bram has had many successes over the years. As a multipurpose canine he’s tracked and apprehended violent felons, located illegal drugs and operated with the military.
“However, one of his most important function is his innate ability to be social. The K-9 programs helps promote a positive relationship between the police and public because everyone wants to pet the K-9.” Chief Tony Pyle
A special thanks to Frank Andrews (Rabun County Sheriff’s Office Retired) for his efforts to make K9 Bram a part of The Calhoun Police Department.
