Storm rolls through the area

Portions of Floyd, Chattooga, Gordon, Walker, Whitfield and Polk Counties were under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 4:15 p.m.

The storm brough mostly wind and rain.

There are no major reports of damage.

However, power outages have been reported.

According to the Georgia Power Outage Map, 99 customers are affected by an outage in the Cave Spring area impacting Highway 100 and Jackson Chapel Road.  

In the Calhoun-Gordon County area, there is an outage affecting 256 customers in the area of the airport on Highway 41, according to North Georgia EMC.

That outage also impacts those on Clarence King Drive, Old Dixie Highway, Union Grove Road and South Wall Street.
