Contested races on the Republican ballot include Diane P. Coker, Jack Dickey, and Scotty E. Hancock who are running for County Commission Post 5, Chip Hood, Tony Potts, and incumbent Terry Williamson for County Board of Education District 1, and running for County Board of Education District 4 are Tony Daniel and Rodney R. Dillard.

The Democrats running for office are R. Jay Driskill and Ouida D. Sams for County Commission Post 5.

For State Representative in District 12, Incumbent Eddie Lumsden is facing a challenge from fellow Republican Kyle Hubbard.

Statewide, the contested races have seven Republicans running for the US Senate, three running for Governor, nine are running for State School Superintendent, 4 for Public Service Commissioner positions, and 2 for US Representative in 114th Congress from the 14th Congressional District of Georgia.

Contested races for Democrats statewide have four running for the US Senate, two for Secretary of State, as well as for Commissioner of Insurance, and six are running for State School Superintendent.
