Athens-Clarke County Police have made an arrest in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars worth of football memorabilia from a UGA football player over the past weekend.
Arrest records from the Athens-Clarke County indicate that Landyn Shane Durham, a graduate of Trion High School that was a student at the University of Georgia, was arrested shortly before 11 PM on Thursday night and charged with two counts of entering an automobile to commit theft.
Bond was set at $10,000 in one count and $12,200 in another count.
Jail records indicate that Durham posted bond.
Summerville police recovered the items this week that were stolen over the weekend in Athens from the vehicle of Roquan Smith.  According to local police, they went to the home of the suspect’s father and requested permission to search the premises.
The items were found in a closet in the home and included jerseys and bowl rings that belonged to Smith.
