A Trion woman was arrested earlier this week at Wal-Mart for allegedly swapping the price on a pair of flip-flops and attempting to leave the store.
Reports from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department indicate that thirty-six-year-old Whitney Matijw of a Highway 151 address, was detained by a Wal-Mart employee after she was observed removing the tags from a .98 cent pair of flip-flops and using the tag to purchase a pair of flip-flops that cost $19.76 at the self-checkout line.
Matijw was arrested for theft by shoplifting.
