A 33-year-old woman was arrested after a domestic incident in Trion, and while being processed at the Chattooga County Jail, officers found drugs inside the woman’s wallet.
According to a report released yesterday by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the scene of a domestic dispute in Trion and when they arrived they were told that the complainants wanted Betty Jo Barfield removed from their property. Ms. Barfield told the deputies that she wanted to pick up her child at the residence. Deputies ran Barfield’s identity and found that she had outstanding warrants in Floyd County.
Officers had to physically remove Ms. Barfield from her vehicle in order to place her under arrest. While Barfield was being processed at the Chattooga County Jail, a jail officer found a small piece of aluminum foil with suspected drugs inside Barfield’s wallet.
She was charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act for drug possession, and crossing guard lines with drugs.
