State releases SAT scores

Georgia public-school students improved their performance on the Scholastic Aptitude Test in 2018 and outperformed their counterparts in the nation’s public schools, recording a mean score of 1054 compared to the national mean of 1049.

Students in the Rome, Floyd, Trion and Cartersville School Systems also bested both the state and national averages.

Rome had 147 test takers who averaged 1077.

145 Floyd County students took the SAT and scored an average of 1092.

Meanwhile, 20 Trion City students scored an average of 1079.

There were 132 test takers from Cartersville Schools and they scored an average of 1087.

Bartow County test takers were just below the state average with 371 students scoring an average of 1046.

127 in the Calhoun City Schools took the Sat and scored a 1041 average.

267 Gordon County students scored 1023.

There were 192 Polk County students taking the 2018 SAT and they scored an average of 1010.

35 test takers in Chattooga County scored 1001.
