Marietta man accused of fleeing from GSP

A Marietta man is facing felony charges of fleeing or attempting to elude and aggravated assault after allegedly fleeing from Georgia State Troopers on Highway 27 North back on April 30.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 43-year old Andrew Benjamin Nelson also traveled through two school zones at a high rate of speed and ran the red light at Little Texas Valley Road.
He also drove on the wrong side of the road putting other drivers in danger, according to the report.
Nelson traveled 7.5 miles in Floyd County before crossing into Chattooga County.
He is also charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, running a red light, reckless driving, aggressive driving, too fast for conditions, driving in the central turn lane, improper passing, and failure to signal.
