Traffic stop for speeding leads to drug arrests

Two Polk County residents were arrested for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute during a traffic stop for speeding on Highway 101 and Isbell Road Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, several individually wrapped bags of marijuana were found in the purse of 26-year old Tiara Lawanna Wilson of Rockmart, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

A large bag of marijuana was located in the middle console and it was packaged for sale.

The driver of the vehicle, 25-year old Timothy Lamar Jackson of Cedartown was additionally charged with giving a false name or date of birth, driving with a suspended license and speeding by going 74 in a 55 mile per hour zone.
