Lindale man charged with murder in Cedartown

Police have filed murder charges in the death of a Cedartown man early Monday morning.
55-year old Kevin B. Millsap of Lindale is accused of killing 49-year old Thomas Elbert Mills.
According to Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd, EMS arrived at the scene on East Point Road and found Mills on the ground, covered with blood and not breathing.
Millsap is also charged with aggravated assault and tampering with evidence, pointing or aiming gun or pistol at another and reckless conduct.
Police have a suspect in custody in relation to the killing of a Villa Rica man in Cedartown early Monday morning.
According to Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd, Polk County 911 received a call at 2:10 a.m. to respond to 132 East Point Road for a man not breathing. Dodd said that when EMS arrived, they found the victim on the ground, covered with blood and not breathing.
The man was rushed to Polk Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:58 a.m., according to Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier.
Brazier said that the victim had “some type of head wound” and that it was the result of an altercation, but did not elaborate further, saying more information would be available pending the results of an autopsy.
Police do have a person in custody, but no charges have been levied as of yet.
Brazier said the investigation is continuing and more details should be made available later.
