Rockmart will play host again to the annual Homespun Festival this weekend.
For 36 years, the Homespun Festival has brought people from across Polk County, Northwest Georgia and other nearby states to Rockmart to enjoy homemade crafts, good food and local music, and this year is no different.
Mandy Mallicoat of the Polk County Chamber of Commerce says people look forward to the festival and what it brings every year, but it may not be the only thing.
“Most people look forward to coming out and just enjoying one another and the fellowship that they get. It’s more like a ‘Homespun Reunion’, and that’s what we like to think it is.”
The 37th Annual Homespun Festival will be in downtown Rockmart starting Friday, July 18 at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 19 will start with a 5K race at 8 a.m. and a parade at 10 a.m. The annual fireworks show will be later that night at 9:30 p.m.
