A man arrested over the weekend on drug charges in Cherokee County, Alabama is also wanted in Georgia.

The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force had issued warrants for 36-year-old Benjamin Lee Johnson for drug-related crimes.  He was wanted in Georgia for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a probation violation.

Those warrants had been issued earlier in the month (June 2019) for Johnson – however, he had eluded capture in Georgia.

Johnson was arrested in Cherokee County Saturday, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and attempting to elude law enforcement.
