Motorcyclist accused of fleeing from state troopers

A 31-year-old Rockmart man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing on a motorcycle from Georgia State Troopers Tuesday evening.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 31-year-old Kevin Wade Usher fled from a traffic stop for no tag at Turner McCall and Hicks Drive.

During the pursuit, speeds reached in excess of 100 miles per hour before ending on Ga. 293.

The report states that Usher was wearing headphones which prevented him from hearing commands at the end of the pursuit.

He is charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, no registration, driving in violation of license class, and wearing headphones while driving.
