Three hurt in Calhoun shooting Monday

A Calhoun man was arrested early Monday on aggravated assault charges following a shooting incident at an apartment on Riverview Drive.

According to a Calhoun Police report, three people were shot.

One of the victims, 26-year old Kayla Turner of Calhoun, was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment.

36-year old Robert Walker of Resaca had wounds to his left leg while 37-year old Dana Walker, also of Resaca, had a wound to her right leg.

Calhoun Police Chief Tony Pyle told the Gordon Gazette that the alleged shooter, identified as Brian Spielman, shot into the ground.

The bullet splintered and ricocheted with fragments hitting the three victims who were standing nearby.
