Rome City Commission meets Monday

The Rome City Commission is expected to award a construction contract for the Walker Mountain Road Landfill, site two, when it meets Monday night.

T & K Construction was the low bidder for the Phase 8 cell construction at a price tag not to exceed $6,848,285.89.

Atlantic Coast Consultants, Inc. would be in charge of construction quality assurance for $225,000, if the contract receives commission approval.

A public hearing regarding the city’s 2020 budgets is also on the agenda for the meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m., as well as First Reading of a noise ordinance amendment pertaining to garbage dumpsters.

Commissioners will also consider an Industrial Surcharge Resolution and a Septic/Waste Hauler resolution.

During the pre-meeting caucus, city staff will give t a presentation regarding the River District.
