Man charged with making threats at hospital

A 65-year old Rome man was charged with terroristic threats and acts and disorderly conduct following an incident at a local hospital Christmas night.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Jimmy Lee Powell Jr. of a Linden Drive address used profane language and threatened to kill a Floyd County Police officer and hospital staff.

He also reportedly threatened to beat up the officer.

Powell is also charged with a probation violation.
