Woman accused of being an accomplice to a crime

A Rome woman was jailed Tuesday, accused of assisting a man wanted in connection with a number of burglaries in the area.

27-year old Miranda Leigh Allen of an Old Dalton Road address is charged with party to the crime of entering an automobile in connection with a January 15 incident in Cedartown.

She is also wanted by authorities in Bay County, Florida and is charged with being a fugitive from justice.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Allen sat in a car while John James Shillibeer entered a vehicle.

Shillibeer is being sought by police for allegedly burglarizing homes and churches all across Rome and Floyd County since November.

Several vehicle thefts and cases of entering auto are also being attributed to Shillibeer who police say is armed and dangerous.
