Georgia gas increased slightly at the pump compared to a week ago.

Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $1.66 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is 2 cents more than a week ago, 2 cents less than last month, and 99 cents less than this time last year.

According to Montrae Waiters with AAA, pump prices are fluctuating throughout the country as demand increases and gasoline stocks decrease.  The boost in demand continues to push pump prices up around the country, as more states re-open businesses.

Local averages on Monday were $1.59 in Floyd County, $1.64 in Bartow County, $1.66 in Gordon County, and $1.67 in Chattooga and Polk Counties.
