Georgia gas prices increased at the pump compared to a week ago.

Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $2.00 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is 8 cents more than a week ago, 25 cents more than last month, and 52 cents less than this time last year.

Demand levels are likely to ebb and flow in the coming weeks as people continue to be cautious about travel.  As a result, pump prices will likely continue to increase through the end of July, according to Montrae Waiters with AAA.

Local averages on Monday were $1.95 in Floyd County, $1.97 in Gordon County and Polk County, $1.98 in Bartow County, and $2.01 in Chattooga County.
