Start of high school football season moved back two weeks

July 21, 2020–4:45 a.m.

STAFF REPORTS

We’ll have to wait a little longer for the start of the high school football season.

During Monday’s Georgia High School Association Board of Trustees meeting, the board voted to postpone the start of the season from August 21 to September 4.

Football conditioning will remain as scheduled.

There will still be 10-game regular-season games followed by five rounds of playoffs in football.

All other GHSA fall sports will remain as scheduled on the current GHSA calendar.
